INSTRUCTOR: SAMANTHA STOVER
This class will focus on oil painting from the model (figure, draped and costumed). In addition to essential figural elements (such as proportion and anatomy), this class will cover methods of composition and building the emotional narrative of a painting through structure, color and light. The goal of this course is to achieve balance in perception and expression when working from observation, and to create a unique and tactile visual language. Techniques of direct and indirect painting will be covered, as will variations for flesh palettes.
