Faculty-Lisa Denison

Lisa V Denison is an artist, working in the Washington D.C. area. Prior to moving to the D.C Area, Lisa was a muralist, taught Drawing & Painting, Studio Art, in Norfolk Public Schools, and Elementary Art in Chesterfield County Schools Virginia for a total of 16 years. Lisa received her B.S. in Art Education from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in 1984. She was a C0-Owner and teacher at Tevy Gallery in Moscow, Pennsylvania prior to moving to Virginia Beach. Her painting style is representational and deliberate encompassing symbolism and storytelling. Lisa has done commissioned work for Restaurateurs, Advertising Agencies, Medical Offices, and private residences, and has exhibited in multiple Galleries in the Metropolitan DC area. She is a working artist at Artists and Makers Studios 5, as well as a participating artist the 2023 Compass Atelier Masters Artists Program.

Lisa brings a unique eye with a deep passion for critical thinking, discussion, and vision to her students. Her goal is helping students navigate fundamentals, as well as guiding them to tap into an abyss of their capabilities and thoughts.
